“What is bad for the hive cannot be good for the bee” (Marcus Aurelius)
It is an illusion that parts of a DID system can have their own life and not influence each other.
We are not different people, we share the same brain, the same body, the same life.
We deceive ourself, if we think that staying in a stressful job that is overwhelming everyone inside, is a good plan for the future, just because it meets the need of one part.
Or that staying in a rough relationship would be good for all, just because one part is in love.
The key is not to get more of our “own” life. That might work short-term, but long-term it will stabilize our symptoms.
The key is to learn to be a Hive and to realize that when our Others are not doing well, WE are actually not doing well.
